PROJECT

Xhamia En-Nur is one of the largest mosques in Switzerland, serving as a spiritual and cultural center for the community. Based on values of faith, unity, and service, the mosque is dedicated to providing a welcoming space for prayer, education, and dialogue. Known for its openness and commitment to harmony, Xhamia En Nur has become a respected institution, fostering connection and understanding across generations and cultures in Switzerland.

The Challenge

The client managed donations and memberships through third-party software, but faced two major issues: high yearly subscription costs and limited flexibility. The platform wasn’t tailored to their unique workflows, leaving them with unnecessary features while missing the ones they truly needed. They reached out to us with the goal of creating a cost-effective, fully customized solution that fit their operations perfectly.

Our Approach

We began by carefully analyzing the client’s business logic, followed by a series of workshops and meetings to clarify the software flow. Once the structure was clear, we moved into the UX/UI design phase. After receiving the client’s approval, we transitioned into development, building a 100% custom membership and donation platform designed specifically for their needs.

Throughout the process, we applied rigorous testing to ensure stability, security, and performance. The result is a solution that includes multiple payment methods, flexible user creation options, and automated membership management.

The Solution

The new system gives the client full control through a simple but powerful admin dashboard. From one place, administrators can register new members, approve or reject applications, and manage every user profile. Payments are tracked in real time, with automated reminders for renewals and one-click bulk notifications for expiring memberships. Donation management is equally seamless, allowing the client to see exactly where contributions are coming from and generate clear reports.

In addition to the admin tools, every member has their own dashboard where they can update personal details, track payments, view donation history, and manage their membership status. This two-sided approach ensures efficiency for the administrators and a smooth, transparent experience for the members themselves.

The overall goal was to eliminate manual work and costly third-party limitations — delivering a platform that is fast, reliable, and tailored 100% to the client’s needs.

Technology

We built the platform on Laravel, one of the most reliable and widely used PHP frameworks. Laravel provided a strong foundation for handling business logic, payments, and membership workflows, while its Blade templating engine allowed us to create a clean, responsive interface without adding unnecessary complexity.

For the database, we used MySQL, ensuring stable performance and structured data management for members, payments, and donations. Security was a top priority — the system includes encrypted passwords, CSRF protection, role-based access, and HTTPS integration to safeguard sensitive user information.

The software also supports multiple payment gateways, automated notifications, and user dashboards, all developed with scalability in mind. By following Laravel’s best practices and using a modern development workflow with version control and optimized queries, we delivered a platform that is secure, efficient, and ready to grow with the client’s future needs.
